Live Stock Company has been ranching since 1907, they are members of the
Montana Wool Growers Association since 1897, and foundation breeders of U.S. Targhee
sheep since 1949.
Their business is raising registered and commercial Targhee sheep. Located just north of the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness in Montana's Big Belt Mountains, their primary objective has been to develop sheep that can survive harsh climatic conditions with minimal human intervention. Concerned with resource conservation, they raise sheep in a natural range environment. Their secondary objective is to continually improve the maternal, growth, and wool characteristics of their flocks. Knowing the needs of the sheep industry, they strive to raise sheep competitive in the marketplace in terms of wool and carcass quality.
