Big
Mountain Whitefish was started more than 50 years ago. The ski
pioneers of Whitefish, Montana trudged up the local "big mountain" for
one, sweet run through Montana's legendary snow. Their laughter echoed
through the mountains and into town. High-speed quads now make climbing
Big Mountain a little easier, but the same quiet space and fresh
exhilaration of this beautiful place still has everyone laughing all the
way down the mountain.
Though surrounded by wilderness and lofty peaks, Big Mountain at Whitefish is surprisingly easy to reach. Glacier Park International Airport is only 19 miles from the lifts and an easy 11 miles from Whitefish. In fact, no other major winter resort is closer to an international airport than Big Mountain. Big Mountain Central Reservations can book your airline or Amtrak tickets as part of your lodging package. If driving, take Interstate 90 until you're eight miles west of Missoula. Take US Highway 93 north 110 miles to Kalispell. From US-93 toward Whitefish, turn RIGHT (North) onto Baker Ave, City Hall will be on your right. Head (North) over the Viaduct, go straight onto Wisconsin Ave through the lights. 3 miles ahead, turn RIGHT (North) onto Big Mountain Rd. 8 miles up the road you'll find Big Mountain Village. Once you're there, you can utilize their free SNOW bus during the ski season. If you love the mountains, we urge you to investigate these ground floor opportunities. A wide range of ownership options are available including Kintla Lodge Condominiums, Sunrise Ridge homes and home sites, as well as new Moose Run town homes. Their Sales Representatives will be happy to discuss ownership with you. |
